spring-ish.

it's been exactly a month since I've posted!

Right now I feel like it is spring-ish because one day our weather will be gorgeous and the next it is winter again. Yesterday it was 70 degrees and today it was 45 and rainy and tomorrow/Tuesday they are calling for freezing temps and icy mix! I just need spring in my life and I need it to stay.

The past month has been busy I suppose.

some highlights:

dr. seuss week at school, my favorite. got to dress up and even got to wear PJs one day :)

-Josh sold his car! finally.

-Skylar turned 8.

-Jackson turned 5 (missing them - they're visiting over spring break, so excited)

-Florida won the SEC basketball championship game today! (we'll not talk about UNC's tourney)

-I've been running a lot more recently.

-and last but not least, we've been doing a lot of cleaning/organizing/house projects.

now if only we could keep it this clean....

My parents came over last weekend to work on our back door a little more. It is almost done! They are allegedly coming over sometime this week to put up the trim/molding around it and it should be finished. I will share a post about it once it is complete.

We hung up a new ceiling fan in the office/guest room.

We covered up the yellow-ish paint in the hallways with a nice, crisp white.

 

next on the agenda for the hallways is to finish all the trim and paint the ceiling. it now looks super yellow and dirty.

while painting we devised a redneck device to get in the high up edges.

I painted the mantle.

and Josh has begun the process of fixing the hole he cut in the ceiling (to fix water damage)

 Cayenne of course had to climb up the ladder and into the ceiling.

we had to coax her out with tuna. and we learned not to leave the ladder unattended.

Right now the project is at a halt on the sanding. Josh sanded a little yesterday but stopped because we had to go down to my sister's for her birthday party and today he spent all day cleaning the garage which was nice!

Speaking of ceilings, we have encountered yet another home owners issue. Last weekend a water spot formed on the ceiling of the room Laura was sleeping in after it rained all day on Friday. Dad went up in our attic space and saw a wet area and looked like water leaking in from the roof. We got a new roof when we bought the house only a year and a half ago. Looked at our contract, 1 year warranty with the company. Naturally. We called a roofing company and a really nice guy came out to look at it. He said the original people did not do a very good job. He covered our problem area with a tarp and is fixing shingles and siding for a pretty reasonable price thankfully. But I still can't believe we got so gipped! Josh is calling the original company tomorrow and giving them a piece of his mind he says ;)

Anyway, that is all the exciting house things that have been happening as of right now! It is late so I need to get to bed. Monday's are never fun especially when I'm sleepy!
