it's summer!
This is my first full week of break. Cannot believe I was still teaching/working last week! It seems like so long ago for some reason. But that is a good thing because it means summer is going by slow, so far. The only thing that is not fun? Spending so much time ALONE! Thus I am hoping I can keep up with the blog a little more :)
life recap:
April: went to the beach for a few days of spring break with all the nieces and nephews.
then had a sleep over with Cam and Jack as they stayed the rest of the week from NJ.

don't worry Campbell, you do have the coolest aunts.
Easter Eggs!
Laura found a puppy. my other sister kept it (meet Tiki!)
May: ran the Girls on the Run 5k with the girls we coached at school.
went hiking at Mount Morrow State Park.
did a 5k walk to raise money for the NF and the Children's Tumor Foundation
our BFFs Vanessa and Dave came to visit and brought their pup Max. they're all best friends too :)
and we all went to the mountains, of course.
went to a Danity Kane concert with my work best friend.
and was asked to teach First Grade next year! so we had our last Kindergarten recess together on the last day of school. bittersweet.
house update:
a couple weeks ago I was in a "spring cleaning" mood and wanted to deep clean our bathroom. we bought a new faucet for our sink and Josh began to install it as Laura (she was over and offered to help) and I started to scrub the bath/shower. I noticed some tiles were popping up, just our luck of course, so I pulled one up to see if it would be an easy fix. instead I found something worse - termites. because why wouldn't we have termites?
long story short, we demolished the bathroom and my brother in law has helped us begin a bathroom renovation project.
the up-side: I get to design my own bathroom.
down-side: my bathroom/bedroom currently looks like this
progress will be slow and steady but I can't wait until it is done!
and Orkin is coming to take care of those pesky bugs.
more details of bathroom story to come.
the world cup is on this summer, hooray!
I played soccer from the age of 5 until my senior year of college, so I always love to watch a good soccer game. and 3 a day? even better.
we're going to Cincinnati for my afore mentioned work BFF's birthday and engagement party this weekend.
we get to check another state off of our 50 state list! I'm excited.
and we play our second world cup game Sunday.
go USA!
hello from chili girl :)
