literally how I feel. I am on my 2nd full week of summer now and it is glorious! I have gotten to eat breakfast while sitting down, I can enjoy my food, I don't have to scarf down lunch in 10 minutes, I have been able to take more than 5 seconds to pick out my clothes (but lets be real, it has been running shorts and t-shirt/tank almost every day - and I love it), I can take longer showers, I can walk Chili twice a day, and I can enjoy her snuggles in the morning. That might be my favorite part.
Since I have been a slacker on posting since break started, I am going to recap my first 2 weeks with events. Then hopefully I will start posting more regularly. I have lots going on coming up, and I want to document it all!
Treadmill Accident
The Tuesday before my last workday, I was finishing up a run on the treadmill and walking to cool down. Josh came home and showed me the collar tag he got for Chili. On the back side he engraved "my mom is a bitch too". Yes, the thinks he's funny. In reality he's a jerk. I started laughing though, as I had stepped on the side ledge part of the treadmill, and Chili wanted to come up to me. She put her front paws on the treadmill and kind of started to glide with it. I reacted without thinking and went to push her off, thinking she could get hurt. Of course I stepped on the moving treadmill, fell, and got pretty banged up. Josh pulled the emergency cord. (Thank goodness he was in there, even though it really was all his fault :) )
One of my hand injuries is actually taking the longest to heal. I think it is because it got burned where there is barely any skin or muscle and is on like straight bone.
I learned some valuable lessons: always wear the safety string on your shorts and don't try to save a dog who isn't hurt or going to be hurt :)
Pool Days and Fun with Kiddos

Father's Day in the Mountains
We went up to Josh's parent's cabin early Friday morning of that weekend. On Friday Josh, Jennifer, Roy and I went on a run/hike at a park in town. It was hard, but fun! The first picture is of the shelter we found on our run. We checked it's availability and booked it for our Father's Day celebration the next day where the whole family came. Friday night we went to a gallery art crawl down town; we went to tons of little antique shops and got free food and wine! Then Saturday, Josh and I went to good old Walmart to buy gifts and we headed to the shelter. Josh's mom, me, Skylar, Kylan, and Chili went on a long hike and played a nature scavenger hunt game. It was a perfect weekend!
Skirt Chaser 5k

This event was this past weekend and it was nice! I felt good the whole race and beat my last 5k by almost a minute and a half. I ran it in 28:26. Not super fast, but good for me right now. Josh ran it in a ridiculous time of 20:33 and placed 2nd in his age group, getting another medal. We got free beer and pint glasses after we finished. After our run, Jennifer and I ran a 1k Fun Run with Skylar and Kylan. I am starting to warm up to this race series I dreaded signing up for. We have a 4 miler on July 4th and I can't wait to dress up for that one :)
Chili
Of course I was extra excited for summer because that means I get to hang out with my little girl and finally be able to enjoy her company!
She sleeps in the most bizarre positions.
(new couch from Josh's parents, waiting on slip cover to arrive. new rug, $60. thank you Target!)
We have been doing lots of work on the cabinets and almost (maybe almost?) have them finished. I primed a bunch of them yesterday and it got me excited because it is white and I love the combo! Our kitchen is so bright! Now I just have to repaint over the white primer with white paint. yippie.
Last night Josh said we should get new countertops soon. Music to my ears.
This is the longest post known to man, so I am ending it there. I have grocery shopping, laundry, fridge cleaning, and cabinet priming to do! Josh and I are going to his parent's cabin again this weekend and we hope to paint the cabinet doors with our new paint sprayer when we get back on Sunday. Hopefully I will have a completed cabinet post soon!
